Beautifully Ethical!
Did I ever tell you my very first makeup job was behind the Lancome counter in Bloomingdales? A long, long time ago, for sure, but it was a great experience. And I kicked butt and sold tubs and tubs of Oglio Major, Ablutia, Nutrix and Galatea. Ridiculous half-Frenchy made up names, but such great products. So great that I was consistently in the top three for sales and I was only part time. Because I loved the product so much and I totally was drinking the company Kool Aid.
So now Lancome is doing the coolest thing, ever: they are taking the Carbon Footprints of Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Selena Breed, Shalom Harlow, Inès Sastre and Daria Werbowy and planting trees to offset the carbon emissions they will use up professionally this year. Which is the coolest thing ever, they can totally afford it and it’s high time someone made an effort to take such a bold initiative!
