German anti-trust officials recently fined the German units of nine companies for, essentially, price fixing by sharing information on pricing and marketing strategies.
The fines totalled about $15.7 million.
Details, here.
What’s all your take about this? Is this fine enough to act as a detriment to others? Should this kind of behavior warrant a fine at all? […]

Smashbox is the latest big name in the cosmetics industry to hop on the green (whatever that means) bandwagon with their new Green Room Collection. All of the packaging is biodegradable or recyclable and the makeup itself is made using environmentally friendly formulas. Exactly which environmentally friendly ingredients do they contain? Well I was unable to find […]

To continue on what seems to be a greenwashing theme this week, check out this article from TreeHugger. Basically it’s yet another company hopping on the Eco-friendly bandwagon. See it’s not bottled water, it’s canned! Gee, what a great idea however, I think I will stick with my Klean Kanteen. Do they think that we can’t read? […]

Did anyone happen to catch the Today Show this morning. It was about deceptive green advertising, which is exactly what we have been discussing around here lately. They had Grist’s Katherine Wroth giving tips on how to see through the hype and find out what these products are really all about. Very interesting but I […]

Well I’m sure it’s great and all. I just am wondering about these “plant based ingredients” that it took them years to perfect. Oh and their […]

Most of us do not get enough fruits and vegetables in our diet on a daily basis. You know who you are*hangs head in shame*. With the pressures of work, family and everything else, it’s hard to put it at the top of my list. What if there was a way to get fresh, locally […]

Origins Organics has a contest going where they want people to tell them how “green” they are. You can enter by submitting a photo, video or blog. Um…really? I’m sorry I just can’t get down with that. So the point of the contest is to nominate yourself for being totally awesome? I’m so wickedly Eco-conscious […]

Today on TreeHugger there is an excerpt from a New York Times article about Burt’s Bees and it’s founder. Apparently Burt’s Bees was sold to Clorox in November but was actually sold originally years ago. Very interesting article, you should check it out. Personally I have been off of the Burt’s Bees bandwagon for a while. […]

My personal guide when it comes to shopping for makeup and skincare products.
Dos
Always read the ingredient list. You can’t go based solely on what the product says it has in it. Be sure that you know what you are buying.
Natural beauty is better than anything you can get out of a tube. Buy makeup that […]
