Eco-Beauty Emporium
A new beauty mecca has opened, drawing all the Eco-obsessed to delight in the bounty. Vert in Venice, CA has collected all of the finest brands in organic and non-synthetic makeup and skincare products in one place. Their target audience is obviously women who are passionate about green living but also have the money to spare. Personally I think it’s worth a visit if you are in the area. Who knows, it might inspire copycats across the country. You can never have too many speciality cosmetic stores devoted solely to Eco-friendly beauty. We will take over the world.

Organic cosmetics are great, and eco-beauty is so intelliegent. Let’s not forget, though, that we can take it one step farther, and go vegan. That would mean, for instance, that makeup brushes would indeed be synthetic, because “organic” brushes are made with the hair of animals that have been slaughtered. To me, it’s a matter of making our priorities not only “green,” but also life-giving. Lots of organic cosmetics are already vegan, so this is not a radical concept. It’s just a matter of being aware of who we want to be, as consumers. We want to do right by the planet, but hopefully more and more of us want to do right by the voiceless creatures living with us on this planet who have been expoited throughout history.
