Is That Your Blinking Lifeclock or Mine?
Yesterday, I was a fresh-faced girl of 29. Today, I am a confident woman of 30. You hear all these horror stories about turning 30 and the end of your youth, yada, yada. I really just feel relieved. It’s like all the insecurity and the uncertainty of my 20’s is finally over. I feel like I know a little bit now…just a little. I’m just peaking and I can’t wait to see what life brings me next. I think that I look better at 30 than I did at 18. One of the main reasons is that I take better care of myself now than I ever have. I have found that the best beauty treatment is self-acceptance. Okay, well self-acceptance and a facial scrub to make your skin look all glowy.
So I have tried Boots Botanics Purifying Facial Scrub a few times and I really can tell the difference. A facial scrub is the kind of thing you don’t want to do every day. Too much of a good thing can make your skin swing the other way. But like once or twice a week so far it’s been great. It makes my pores look smaller and my skin softer. I don’t need to look younger, I just need to look like a more fabulous version of myself. You could also just make your own facial scrub. Yogurt (plain whole fat) and ground almonds is a personal favorite. Especially in the summer when you’re feeling kinda grimy. You can tweak the consistency until it’s a loose paste. Keep it in the fridge for a few days in an airtight container and put it on cold…so lovely. So let’s pump our collective fists in the air for the mature woman. Here’s to laugh lines, flabby post-baby bellies and skin that needs a little extra “lovin”.
