Nine Cosmetic Firms Fined
German anti-trust officials recently fined the German units of nine companies for, essentially, price fixing by sharing information on pricing and marketing strategies.
The fines totalled about $15.7 million.
What’s all your take about this? Is this fine enough to act as a detriment to others? Should this kind of behavior warrant a fine at all? Is this really price fixing? Why do Germans refer to monopolies as “cartels”?
Discuss.
