Partnering with Carbonfund.
I found it interesting when I recently visited the Carbonfund.org website to see the lack of personal care companies that are getting involved.
Lancôme did it. When Elettra Rossellini Weidemann became Lancôme’s Spokesmodel, she convinced Lancôme to begin taking a more environmental role. She reportedly requested a carbon neutral program to offset her travel as a spokesmodel. Lancôme soon became a premier partner with Carbonfund.

What is the Carbonfund? Carbonfund is an organization that makes it simple for us to learn how to reduce and offset our carbon emissions.
They include simple steps:
Reduce What You Can, Offset What You Can’t.™
The first step is to reduce your carbon emissions wherever possible. There are many cost-effective energy saving and carbon reducing opportunities anyone can take. To learn more, see our Save Energy section.Calculate Your Emissions or Select an Option, and Contribute.
Use our calculator to figure out your carbon footprint, or choose from one our preset options. If you don’t see what you need, or have a special footprint in mind (an organization, business, event) contact us. Contributions are tax-deductible.Carbonfund.org Offsets Your Carbon Emissions.
Carbonfund.org supports carbon-reducing projects such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects. In fact, you get to choose.
I certainly applaud the efforts of those involved with the Carbonfund. I just think that we need to reach out to our favorite beauty companies and make them aware of the Carbonfund.org, and how easily it would be for them to get involved.

That was freaky, we were just discussing carbon neutrality. Good on you for raising this important issue. Beauty can have great depth and power when it comes from a whole person paradigm. Congratulations

Hi Teri,
I work for Carbonfund.org. Thanks for the mention! We are hoping more businesses, and individuals get involved. You’re right, a few personal care and retail companies are getting involved — but with greater awareness, activist investors, hopefully we’ll get the word out. We have a blog too. Please check it out: http://www.carbonfund.blogspot.com/.
Thanks!
