Planet Green on Discovery

I had this article forwarded to me and I just had to share it here. It’s all about the new Discovery Network channel, Planet Green. I found it quite amusing and thought provoking. It’s something we’ve been discussing here for a while. Basically what is the “green” message and what does it need to be? I […]

Paper or Plastic? How about Neither

It’s no secret that plastic bags are not good for the environment. Here’s the thing, paper isn’t that great either. The great reusable bag push has been on for a while now with many places having banned the use of plastic altogether. None of this is news I know but follow me a bit. You […]

Big Green

It may or may not come as a surprise to you that cosmetics is big money.
Organic cosmetics globally pulled in $7 BILLION in 2007, according to Organics Monitor. With a “b.”
Of course, according to some, that’s just a drop in a $300 billion bucket. Still, it’s enough for some people to sit up and take notice. […]

Nine Cosmetic Firms Fined

German anti-trust officials recently fined the German units of nine companies for, essentially, price fixing by sharing information on pricing and marketing strategies.
The fines totalled about $15.7 million.
Details, here.
What’s all your take about this? Is this fine enough to act as a detriment to others? Should this kind of behavior warrant a fine at all? […]

Dollah, Dollah Bills Y’all

Erm…okay where do I start? Has anyone read the book Gorgeously Green? I cannot comment on how helpful or well written the book is since I have not had the chance to check it out. I will just comment on the website. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Could it be the rampant […]

Eco-Friendlier Hairbrush

I have a really bad habit of obsessive hair brushing. Even when I’m not going anywhere I may walk into the bathroom and brush my hair 4-5 times a day. Does it look better? Um, no but it makes me feel better. “They” say that the best hairbrush to use is made with wood and […]

Dirty Mouth

I’m back, sorry about the hiatus. Computer problems galore however now I have lots to share with you. I know we talk a lot here about soaps and other frivolities. Hygiene is such a large part of our day in this and many other countries. The thing is though to many people soap is not […]

Where To Get The Goods

I find on many occasions that in order to get something I need or want, be it natural and/or organic goods or whatever, it ends up being a choice between the lesser of two evils. Either I order it online or I have to drive to the ends of the earth to get it…with a […]

Wasted

So to follow up on our conversation the other day about the new Planet Green channel, I finally caught that show Wasted. I should say I actually could not even finish the episode, it was so aggravating to me. I know that’s the point, right. You get aggravated and then watch the participants change the […]

Clean Again Naturally

Since today is Father’s Day I thought I would talk about a “natural” products geared towards men. It must smell like grass or beer or something. The hubs has beautiful hair that he refuses to put product in, so I have to be careful to not offend his senses when trying out a new shampoo on him. […]
